Fairhaven Update-February-11-2025

Numbers 6:24-26–24 The Lord bless you, and keep you;25 The Lord make His face shine on you,And be gracious to you;26 The Lord lift up His countenance on you,And give you peace.

Dear Friends,

I am always amazed when I realize how much time has passed since I sent out the last update letter. Sissie and I often wonder “Is time moving faster today….?” It sure does seem that it is.

As usual, things are still busy and non-stop around here. However, when you pray that the Lord will use you to be a blessing to others, that is how it is—and we are so thankful for this privilege!!

I want to share with you something that happened about a month ago, I guess.

Some friends, Robert and Cat Roule, have New Life Missions and have a warehouse in Baton Rouge, La. They contacted me that they had some supplies that I might could use so a friend and I took the trailer and drove over there. Besides other great supplies, there were about 40 arctic sleeping bags and probably about 500 lbs. of tarps.

At that time, I had planned to make a trip to a homeless ministry in Tulsa, Ok., in about 2 weeks. When I saw the sleeping bags and tarps, I asked my friend to ck the future weather in Tulsa and he told me they were going to have extremely cold weather the next week and possibly snow. I decided then that we should go ahead and get those supplies up there so 2 days later made the trip.

As we were unloading the supplies at their storage unit in Tulsa, Jameson O’Connor, founder of Hope Dealerz Ministry, told us “those supplies will save lives next week”. It is always a huge blessing to try to be on God’s schedule in ministering to others.

We are always amazed at how the Lord connects us with those who are like minded in serving. Jameson, like many others we work with, knows that the supplies will help meet a physical need, but more importantly opens the door to minister to the spiritual needs. I have often prayed that the Lord will allow us to minister where others do not want to, and through the years He has allowed this privilege. Jameson and his group go into the homeless camps where very few will go—and that is where some of the greatest needs are.

Then, there are always the daily things here at Fairhaven, such as repairing and trying to keep things up  around here as the Lord provides the funds (I think it was easier building all of these buildings than maintaining them! ), taking care of livestock, making the pickups and then distributing food and medical supplies…….. I assure you it is never boring!

As you read these letters, please remember that anything accomplished is only because of the Lord’s faithfulness, and your faithfulness with your prayers and support. We are also very thankful for all of you who come and help with all of the distribution and other work around here. It amazes me when I sometimes think of all the people uses to make things happen, and of how He always puts us all together. And, there is not one person who He uses that is more important than another. I am a firm believer that God had networking perfected a long time before Microsoft did!

As of the first Sunday in January, Fairhaven Ministry has been in operation for 59 years. What our Lord started, using Bro. and Mrs. Harold Brown, and $1.47, has ministered not only to many children, but to needs all over the US and the world. We thank God for allowing us to be a part of His work.

Again, thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

May the Lord richly bless all of you.

In His Service,

Johnny & Sissie
