It is our prayer that this letter finds all of you well.
Here at Fairhaven, things seem to be moving as fast as ever—even with the heat we have been having. Although it has rained in many places around us, we have not received anything besides a few drops at a couple of times. I have never seen our ponds as low nor all of our pastures as brown as they are now. However, the Lord knows all about that also.
My purpose for this letter is to ask for your sincere prayers. As I told you, we could not obtain any rice in bulk. Right now, a friend in Nebraska is trying to find beans. I ask you to please join us in prayer that he can find some beans not only for shipping to Malawi but also to people in Sudan. My friend called me last night from Tennessee. He had received a call from a ministry in Israel that works in Sudan and, like Malawi, people are literally starving to death there.
I have had people ask me, a few times through the years, “But Johnny, what good is one shipment going to do when there are so many in need?” My reply is that if everyone worked from that perspective, no one would do anything. It is my sincere belief that if we do our part, our Lord can as easily multiply the food we ship, as He did the loaves and fishes. Please sincerely pray with us regarding this need. Also, we only need about $5000 more to have enough to cover the shipping to Malawi so please pray for that also.
If you are a local person, we are, again, looking for a truck and driver to take another load to Tulsa, Ok., should you be interested. We have a lot of supplies and they really do need them.
