Hebrews 4:16–Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Dear Friends,
Yesterday afternoon, between disruptions, I finally had my update letter all typed up. When I left my office for dinner, I clicked on “save to draft”. Later, when I came back to complete it, it was gone—not in any folders anywhere. Well, as you can imagine I was more than a little frustrated. Finally, the Lord AGAIN reminded me of, actually, how insignificant that is compared to what so many are facing today in our communities, our states, our nation, and our world. He reminds me of that frequently and tends to help me keep things in perspective. I am glad that He “knows our frame” and understands us better than we understand ourselves.
Things seem to be moving as fast as ever around here, and sometimes it seems faster than ever! Recently we attended Allie’s college graduation and then Chaz’s high school graduation. Through the years Sissie and I have attended many school graduations of kids we have raised here, grand kids, and those who had military graduations. It hasn’t been easy but we are so thankful for Lord making each of them possible.
As you can see from a couple of the pictures, we are always having grandkids and great grandkids over. One of the pictures is of Brylee with a bass she caught in one of the ponds a few days ago. The other is of some of them out in the pasture riding in the “Mule”.
The Lord continues to pour His blessings in so that we can pass them on to others. Recently, we received, within a day, about 10,000 pounds (conservative estimate) of food to give out from Our Daily Bread in Hammond. Also, every Monday, we pick up at 3 Chick Filets, 3 Pizza Huts, the Olive Garden, and Chipotles. On Thursday mornings, we pick up at 3 Chick Filet’s and Fresh Market. Then, 5 days a week we pick up at Whole Foods. We are so thankful for those who help us by often making these pickups for us. Then, Sissie, with everything else she has to do, makes sure the foods are distributed where they are needed. None of this would happen though if not for the help of many local people.
Also, the Lord has allowed us to help “I Am Able Ministries in Forest Hill, La. Thanks to some men willing to make a long drive, they have recently delivered 2 loads from here to Tulsa, Ok. for this ministry.
The Lord willing, we will be shipping to Poland within the next 2-4 weeks. Originally, I had told you these supplies would end up in Transnistria but I have since found out that they will be going into the Ukraine to help meet the needs there. I want to thank all of you who have helped to make this possible both with donations of supplies and with financial donations.
Folks, as we live in these days where our Lord has us now, please never forget that YOU were put here for “such a time as this” and that you are not here by accident. Each of us have a special job to do at this time—no one more important than another. I would just ask you to pray for His Leadership in your life and then be open to wherever/whatever He directs you.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.
In His Service,
Johnny
Wisdom From Oswald Chambers
“When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” We all have faith in good principles, in good management, in good common sense, but who amongst us has faith in Jesus Christ? Physical courage is grand, moral courage is grander, but the man who trusts Jesus Christ in the face of the terrific problems of life is worth a whole crowd of heroes.
