Dear Friends,
I have had several phone calls, emails, and text messages asking what we can do to help he refugees coming from Ukraine into Poland, Moldova, and Romania.
According to different reports, there have been 1-1 ½ million refugees so far. I would invite you to go to the link I am posting with this letter for that gives you an small idea of what is happening there.
Anytime I see these things, no matter where they are happening, I have always thought, “But for the grace of God, that could be me/us.” We surely need to keep these people in our prayers, and also to help them as the Lord makes it possible.
Kristy Scott, with WER (World Emergency Relief) has a person leaving for that area today to find out the specific needs, and also get logistics in place for shipping there. In the near future, I will send you a list of items we will be collecting.
In order to help them immediately, we can do wire transfer of funds to a bank in Canada. Mark Fashevsky, with Heart4Orphans, in Moldova, can draw on this bank and is taking those funds and using them for the refugees, to meet as many immediate needs as possible. Should you desire to help in this way, please let us know, or, if you want to donate for this, you can make the ck out to Fairhaven and on the memo line, write “Ukraine Refugees”.
I will keep you informed as more information on helping becomes available.
In His Service,
Johnny
