Philippians 2:3–Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Dear Friends,
I hope this finds all of you having a great summer. Our summer has been
filled with activities for the children, including the camping trip to
Florida. They had a great time and we are always thankful for the Lord
making this possible.
Sissie and I will be taking Allie to Mississippi College on August 18th.
Please be praying for her as she starts school there.
One of the verses that is always coming to mind is Proverbs 16:9—A man’s
heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. I can’t tell you
the times I have had the Lord to upset my plans before 7 in the morning. And
now, it has happened in regards to shipping to Guatemala. I had planned to
load on August 11th but I am changing it to August 25th. There are reasons
for this and I will share just one of them, which is really a blessing. You
will notice that I have attached the list of needs again in case anyone
should need it. In order to have our contents list preapproved before
shipping, we need all the supplies no later than August 11th
One of the greatest needs in Guatemala is antibiotics. The Lord has recently
given us funds with which to purchase those antibiotics and we praise Him
for this. However, in order to make sure we have them in time, then send the
list of meds, as well as container contents list to Guatemala for approval,
I want to make sure that we have plenty of time to do this. So, if you can
come help us load this container, please put August 25th on your calendar.
If you can come help we would sure appreciate it.
Again, thank you all for your prayers and support. May the Lord greatly
bless you all.
Children’s ministry needs in Guatemala
Dear Friends,
I guess this is the first time I have ever sent out 2 updates so close to each other. However, I felt I should share this with you.
Yesterday, after I sent out the update letter, I received the following from Sofia Rodriquez, my contact in Guatemala. She mentions the tables, but I am sure that they can use anything that you can think of that would pertain to a children’s ministry. I know that those items will be a blessing to them.
“Johnny, I want to share with you about the needs of a kids ministry teacher. Her name is Isabel, she is the main contact I have in a community where we help with the feeding program, this week we started the program over there. Talking with her, she share that 8 months ago they began with the kids ministry and that they don’t have materials or even tables for the kids. When they started they got a donation of chairs but that’s it. I’m going to try to get her crayons, markers, notebooks, paper sheets for them. But I did wanted to ask you if there is a way that your ministry could donate kids tables for them, and send them in the container. There about 50 kids. I believe kids are one of the most important ministry in a church and investing on them is worth it.”
Should you have any questions at all, please contact me.
Thanks, and have a blessed day.
Johnny
