The Path That We Have Trod
This book, “The Path That We Have Trod”, was written by my mother in law, Mrs. Harold Brown, but known to everyone here at Fairhaven as “Sweetie”. I had wanted her to write this introduction, but her health is not good at this time. This book is simply the story of the path of life that she and her husband, Brother Harold Brown, shared from the time they were very young until God led them to start the ministry to children. It describes their walk of faith for so many years and some of the trials they faced. As with everything that is accomplished through Fairhaven, whether here or halfway...

Dear Friends, I knew that it had been a while since I sent out an update, but until I just checked, I had no idea that I had not sent one since September. I apologize for this. Praise the Lord, we are all doing well here and it is as busy as ever. I am going to attach a letter I wrote recently (click here) and you will see that we have 4 new boys with us now. We never know what the Lord is going to do around here! Also, the Lord is sending food in new ways which is being distributed to those in need. Although it adds to the work, we are thankful for the opportunity to be God’s hands and...

Luke 6:38—Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Dear Friends, This is just a short letter to express our appreciation to all of you who have prayed for, and contributed to, the flood victims. We had an outpouring of generosity and I am sure that most of us can’t imagine what those supplies mean to people who have lost everything. As you can see from the pictures, we loaded the supplies this past Sunday...

Matthew 25: 37-40—37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Dear Friends, As I write this letter, there is a natural disaster of immense proportions going on in south east Texas from Corpus Cristi...

1 Corinthians 15:58–Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Dear Friends, It is amazing how quickly the summer is going by. The kids have been busy with different church camps and vacation, then VBS last week at our church. We are thankful that they have such great activities to be a part of. The Lord continues to bless us and the ministry here at Fairhaven because of all of your prayers and support. I would like to remind you that we do not take for granted...

Colossians 3:23–And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Ecclesiastes 9:10–Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Dear Friends, School is out and the kids are looking forward to a busy summer. Besides church camps and activities, the girls will be going on a trip to Tennessee and the boys to Florida. We thank The Lord for using so many of you in making these possible for the children. Sweetie has been doing well lately and Sissie...
