Fairhaven Update July-24-2018
Philippians 2:3–Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Dear Friends, I hope this finds all of you having a great summer. Our summer has been filled with activities for the children, including the camping trip to Florida. They had a great time and we are always thankful for the Lord making this possible. Sissie and I will be taking Allie to Mississippi College on August 18th. Please be praying for her as she starts school there. One of the verses that is always coming to mind is Proverbs 16:9—A...

1 John 3:18–My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. Dear Friends, I have recently been approached about trying to help in Guatemala where the recent volcano, Volcan de Fuego (Volcano of Fire), erupted. At first, after reading up on the situation there, I really thought that there was more than enough aid there. However, after speaking with some who are in contact with those on the ground there, we have found out that they do need all of the aid they can get—not only for the present but also for the future for those who have lost...

Ephesians 2:10– For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Dear Friends, I hope this finds all of you well and enjoying your summer. As usual, it has been, and continues to be busy around here, both with the kids and with helping others as the Lord makes it possible. This past week, Harold went to Disney World with the Covington...

Amen. Dear Friends, I want to began this letter with a prayer request. Mrs. Brown, better known as Sweetie, was brought home this week from the hospital with Hospice. For those of you who may not be familiar with the ministry here, it was her husband, Brother Harold Brown, and her that started Fairhaven 52 years ago this past January. Please pray that our...

1 Cor. 15:58– Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Dear Friends, Just a short letter to inform you all that, the Lord willing, we will be loading a container for Israel on Saturday, February 24th. We would surely appreciate your help if you could make it. As usual, we will have breakfast about 7:30 and start loading at 8 or so. One of the questions I am frequently asked by donors, and others with whom I work, is how do we know that supplies we ship are...

A couple of weeks ago I was wondering, as I always do at the beginning of each year, just what the Lord had for us in this coming year. Well, He is starting it off by answering a prayer of mine. As most of you know, we are open to ship wherever the Lord directs, opens doors, and provides. However, in the past few months I have had a real burden and desire to ship another container to Israel. Then, as of last Saturday morning, He opened the door to do this. If He is willing, we will load either the last of February or the first part of March. Should any of you desire to help meet the needs in...
