Fairhaven Update – Apr. 1, 2012
Dear Friends, As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support. The Lord continues to bless and protect the ministry and the children here at Fairhaven. We always praise Him and thank Him for His faithfulness and goodness toward us. I am always sharing with people, living here at Fairhaven may often be very tiring, but it is certainly never boring. As usual, at this time of the year, many of the children are on Little League teams. This year, they are spread over 7 teams. I assure you that it takes some coordination to be sure they are all at practices right now, and...

Dear Friends, It is my prayer that this finds all of you well. Besides a little virus that has been going around, we are all fine. We continue to praise God for His faithfulness and His provisions each day. Often, I will look back, at the end of the day, and think of all that He has brought me through, and how He miraculously met needs when I did not think there was any way that I could keep going. He is always MORE than faithful! In the devotion with the kids this morning, I was sharing with them about how we treat each other, and those we come into contact with each day. As they asked me...

Dear Friends, At last I am sending a few of the pictures of children receiving their Christmas Boxes and some of the older people receiving their Joy Bags. If the Lord is willing, and I can get my part done, I am hoping to have some video of some of it on the webpage in a few weeks. As I look at all of the pictures/videos I have rcvd, I am thinking of all of the work and sacrifice of so many of you that made this possible for those who received. I am often reminded of the quote I read somewhere that stated “The best intentions never fed anyone who is hungry or clothed anyone who is...

Dear Friends, Thank you for making the 45th Christmas at Fairhaven such a blessing for the children. I assure you that the attached pictures can’t possibly convey the excitement and happiness of the children as they opened their gifts on Christmas morning. On Christmas Eve we had our party, but most importantly we had the Christmas Story. I shared with the children the most important gift and the greatest sacrifice the world has ever known. Only because of God’s gift and sacrifice of His son, Jesus, do we have the gift of eternal life. I also shared with the children that they...

Dear Friends, Just a quick update to let you know that the “Christmas Container” arrived safely in Arad, completely intact. We did have a little problem in Germany. From each shipload of containers, customs will choose 3 or 4 for spot inspections. Ours was one of the ones chosen this time, in Bremerhaven. Although there was no problem with the contents of the container, we still had to pay $798 for the inspection, storage, etc. Just another “cost of helping people”. Then, in Romania, we have to pay about $600 in taxes and other fees. We just have to trust God to cover...

Dear Friends, I wanted to update you all on the loading of the container this past Saturday. This made Container # 70 for Romania! The Lord touched hearts and people responded. We had one of the largest turnouts ever to help load a container. Thank you!! We started loading at 8 am and prayed over the fully packed container around 10 am. Thousands of hours of labor that went into the sorting and boxing of the contents that were loaded on Saturday. I often tell people that this is the part of mission work that most folks never see. Only the Lord knows how much I appreciate all the people...
